Required safeguards
- AI output is not treated as a source.
- Names, quotations, dates, outcomes, and factual claims should be checked against available source material.
- AI tools must not be used to fabricate a source, quotation, identity, or event.
- Sensitive personal data should not be entered into an AI tool without an appropriate reason and safeguard.
Disclosure
Material AI involvement should be disclosed when a reasonable reader would need that context to understand how the content was made. Routine spelling, grammar, formatting, and workflow assistance may not receive a separate label.
Corrections
AI-assisted articles follow the same Corrections Policy as other work.
